What is your horse to guest ratio?
The horse to guest ratio at Long Hollow Ranch is two to one. Two horses for each guest.

Do we get to use the same horse all week?
Yes, after visiting with your wrangler on the first night, guests are carefully matched to the horse that best matches their riding experience level and expectations.

Do you only take experienced riders at Long Hollow Ranch? No. All experience levels from a first time horseback riding to experienced trail or show riders are welcome. Our horses have a wide variety of training in addition to trail riding (cutting, dressage, western pleasure, etc.).

Do you have a children's program?
We offer a family program.

How old do children need to be to ride at Long Hollow? Pony rides are available for guests six and under. Children over six are welcome to ride in the arena and take lessons. Trail rides are available to those over six that show good horse control and interest in riding. Cattle drives are available for children twelve (12) and older.

Do you require riders to wear helmets?
We recommend riding helmets for all levels and ages and require them for riders twelve and under.

What do we need to bring to ride?
  • Long pants
  • Riding boots (we have some loners available>
  • Helmet (if under twelve, suggested for all)
  • Camera
  • Sunscreen
