Horse Riding FAQs
If you give 4-hour notice, you will not be charged a cancellation fee. If notice is not given 4 hours in advance, a $25 cancellation fee is assessed per rider ($45 minimum).
Horseback riding is available April through October (weather permitting). We do not offer trail rides on Sunday to provide our staff and horses a day of rest. Contact us for more information. Wrangler: 541-604-0696. Office: 541-923-1901.
For the safety of riders and horses, rides will not be taken out when the temperature is above 90 degrees or when there are high winds, thunderstorms, snow, ice or other unsafe conditions are present. The wranglers will make decisions based on safety concerns for horses nd riders.
Yes! However, we do not have a specific riding program for children.
Trail rides are available to children six and over who show good horse control and interest in riding.
Parents or guardians must accompany their children and are responsible for them at all times. Children under fifteen (15) years of age are required to wear a helmet at all times while mounted on a horse. For those over 15 helmets are optional, but strongly recommended.
Pony rides are available for guests under 6. Children under six are welcome to ride in the arena and take lessons subject to the wrangler’s availability.
Cattle work is available for riders fourteen (14) and older who are competent riders.
Yes. A “Waiver of Liability” must be completed and signed by each rider on arrival. Guests under 18 will also need the signature and permission of their parent or legal guardian.
All riders are required to wear boots with a minimum 1” heel and long pants. Loaner boots are available in most sizes, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
We strongly recommend wearing long jeans type pants when riding. Riding in shorts only is considered unsafe and is not permitted.
Cash, personal check, traveler’s check, Visa, and MasterCard are accepted. A Visa or Mastercard is required to confirm your reservation at the time of booking.
Double riding is not allowed. One rider per horse only.
The maximum weight limit for riding is 275 lbs.
Yes, if the horse continues to be a good fit for the rider. Following a conversation with the wrangler on the first night, guests are matched to the horse that best matches their riding experience level and expectations. Situations may occur during the week that makes a change advisable.
Yes. All experience levels from first time riders to experienced riders are welcome.
We recommend riding helmets for all levels and ages and require them for riders fifteen (15) years and under.
Riding boots. We have some loner boots available, but not in every size. Check with the wrangler when making your reservation.
Helmets are required if rider is under sixteen (16) years of age and recommended for all riders. We have some helmets available at the ranch, but cannot guarantee we have a size for everyone. and suggest you bring your own helmet if you have one.
