Long Hollow Ranch Horseback Riding
Long Hollow Ranch is home to between 15 and 20 horses. If you wish to participate in horse related activities during your stay, there are a couple of options for you:
Basic Horsemanship Lessons
A beginners introduction to Western horseback riding. The lesson will cover learning to safely lead, groom and saddle your horse and arena time working on beginner riding skills.*
*Lessons are available for guests staying at the ranch and are subject to the wrangler’s riding schedule.
Hourly Horseback Rides
As a guest of Long Hollow Ranch, riders are provided with a horse suited to their size and riding skills. Small groups of riders are guided by our wranglers who will offer instruction and safety information. Riders may choose to spend their time receiving instruction in the arena or enjoy riding the trails on Long Hollow Ranch. Our trails offer scenic high desert and mountain views and scenes along the trail of the amazing natural beauty of the central Oregon desert.
Cookout Dinner Ride
A popular treat at Long Hollow Ranch is the Dinner Cookout. Horses and riders travel through the range and along the fields to the cookout area beside the South Sister pond or the NE pond. After enjoying a barbecue including delicious picnic fare, they continue their ride through the ranch and back to the stable.
Another favorite at Long Hollow Ranch is the Morning Breakfast Ride. Guests mount their horses at the barn and enjoy a pleasant morning ranch ride. This ride includes a stop on the trail to enjoy a delicious breakfast of sizzling bacon, eggs and hot cakes with along with their hot coffee and orange juice.

Riders should plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes before their scheduled ride time.
Children ages six and older may participate in trail rides at wrangler discretion.
To book your trail ride, please contact us by phone. Rides should be arranged a minimum of 24 hours in advance to ensure that we can accommodate you. Short notice rides are possible but cannot be guaranteed.
