Long Hollow is a historical gem in Central Oregon. The main buildings date back over one hundred years and have been tastefully and comfortably updated. The main guest house has five guest rooms, each with private bath. The Cottage is the repurposed former stage stop and cowboy commissary. While the Homestead House, our newest guest venue, is the original ranch house which dates back to the 1980’s. The Long Hollow Ranch was headquarters for the Black Butte Land and Livestock Company in the early 20th century. The main house was the headquarters building for the business that was comprised of five large ranches, one being the current Black Butte Ranch .
Over the past century, Long Hollow was a self-sustaining working ranch where beef and milk cattle, chickens, hogs, sheep and horses were raised and fed on hay, grain and fodder also grown here. The Old Santiam Wagon Road ran through the ranch, and some remains of the road are still visible.
Riding and hiking trails criss-cross the ranch, while adjacent private and public lands provide plenty of space to explore on foot or horseback. Long Hollow boasts three fine fishing reservoirs, and is within minutes of several great golf courses. So, take your pick of activities or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Our wish is that our guests leave Long Hollow renewed in body and spirit.
